Fluorescent dye derived from trimethine cyanine with an intrinsic neutral charge.Forms a reversible disulfide bond with sulfhydryl groups at pH up to 6.5.
Storage Instruction:
Store in the dark at -20°C and keep under argon.
Note:
Maximum Excitation/Emission wavelength: 550/566 nm (in CH3OH)
Features:
Due to its extreme selectivity, the amine-cross labeling is avoided. The pyridyl disulfide bond can be cleavaged by TCEP (tris-(2-carboxyethyl)phosphine hydrochloride) and DTT (1,4-dithiothreitol). Suitable for 2D-DIGE (Two-dimensional difference gel electrophoresis) in saturation labeling applications, the intrinsic neutral charge does not alter the pI (isoelectric point) of the biomolecule after labeling on the cysteine groups.
