Preparation Note
This natural matrix sludge was collected from a municipal sewage treatment plant and fortified to meet NELAC requirements. Due to the nature of sewage sludge some analytes may exceed the NELAC range.
The PT sample contains 26 NELAC metals plus strontium, titanium, and silicon reported as Si. The PT sample can be analyzed for ammonia as N, TKN, total phoshorus, TOC, and total solids. A total sample size of 100 g is provided.
The PT sample has been sterilized and sized to 100 mesh. Recommended storage condition is 4º C.
The evaluation of results will be based on study statistics for equivalent methods. Determine the metals present, the concentration, and report your results on the analysis data sheet provided. If multiple methods are used for preparation and/or analysis, a separate report form must be used for each preparation and analysis method.
Sample Preparation
Perform the sample digestion on an appropriate amount of sample according to the selected digestion procedure.
Determination of the percent moisture content of the material is required. Report all results on a dry weight basis.
It is recommended that approximately one gram of the soil be digested for metals analysis.
