Artificial Urine as per ISO 20697:2018
This test method specifies requirements for sterile, single-use drainage catheters, wound and fluid accumulation drainage systems, surgical drainage catheters and their components, where the catheter is placed in a body cavity or wound, surgically or percutaneously, for drainage of fluid or air to the exterior.
For testing drainage catheters: Artificial Urine is prepared according to EN ISO 20697:2018 standard procedure. ISO 20697:2018 specifies the method to test for sterile, single-use drainage catheters, wound and fluid accumulation drainage systems, surgical drainage catheters and their components, where the catheter is placed in a body cavity or wound, surgically or percutaneously, for drainage of fluid or air to the exterior. This ready-to-use solution should be stored frozen to avoid bacteria growth. The pH of the solution is 6.6.
Simulated Urine or Artificial Urine is designed for Testing single-use drainage catheters, wound and fluid accumulation drainage systems, surgical drainage catheters, and their component research testing. Our Artificial Urine formulation has a similar composition and ingredients that stimulate the biological contents, mineral composition, enzymes, and pH of natural urine. This ready-to-use formulation contains and has a pH of 6.6. This solution is only intended for product testing and research, and not for in vivo medical use.
