Pancreatic Leukocyte Elastase Substrate (MeOSuc-AAPV-pNA), aka Elastase Substrate 1, is a highly sensitive colorimetric substrate for pancreatic leukocyte elastase (neutrophil elastase). Pancreatic leukocyte elastase is a serine proteinase that is secreted by neutrophils during inflammation to destroy bacteria as well as host tissue. MeOSuc-AAPV-pNA can be used for in vitro assays with purified enzyme or with biological fluids or conditioned medium. Reaction progress is detected by monitoring substrate hydrolysis at 405-410 nm.This product is not a substrate for cathepsin G or chymotrypsin.
