Ac-Leu-Glu-Glu-Asp-AMC is a fluorogenic substrate for Caspase 13. Caspase 13 or ERICE (evolutionarily related interleukin-1β converting enzyme) was originally thought to be human but was later found to be bovine in origin. It is an orthologue of human Caspase 4.
Activity is quantified by release of free fluorescent 7-amino-4-methylcoumarin (AMC) which excites at 360-380 nm and emits at 440-460 nm.
