Dodecylphosphocholine is a structural analog of lauroyl lysophosphatidylcholine that is more stable to hydrolytic degradation. The lipid is often used as a detergent for membraneprotein solubilization and purification.
Dodecylphosphocholine has been shown to improve paracellular permeability of hydrophilic compounds by modulating the tight junctions. This may have implications on its use for oral or nasal drug delivery.
