LH-RH [D-Lys6] free acid is an analog of luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone, also known as Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH). LHRH binds the gonadotropin releasing hormone receptor on gonadotrope cells in the pituitary gland, stimulating phospholipase C to release calcium and activating protein kinase C. It controls many functions including follicular growth, ovulation, corpus luteum maintenance in females, and spermatogenesis in males. The D-Lys6 analog acts as a potent LH-RH agonist and is less prone to degradation. It is the free acid analog of Cat# 550-46.
