Bombesin is a neuropeptide, originally isolated from amphibian skin (cat # 177-25 is fully synthetic), with biological activity in the gastrointestinal tract in addition to the central nervous system. Biological effects include inhibiting gastric emptying, modulating secretion of gastric acid, and stimulating secretion of pancreatic enzymes. In rats, it has been shown to suppress feeding.
