TheCytoCaptureS40-15productsaredesignedforcell-basedassaysandhighresolutionlifecellimagingofadherentcellswiththeintentiontocontrolmorphology,localizationand3Dconformationofthecells.Auniformarrayofsquaretypepolymercavitieslaysontopofthecoverglassbottomsofthesespecializedcellcultureandimagingconsumables.Individualcavitieshaveadistancefromsurroundingwalltowallof40µm.Thewallthicknessis5µm.Heightofthewallsis15µm.Thewallsofthecavitieserrectstraightuprightfromthebottom(F-shape).Seededcellssedimentspontaneouslyinsidethemicrocavities.Thegeometryofthecavitiesallowslargercells(diameter20-30µm)toenter.Withinthesecavitiesthecellsusethesidewallsasguidanceforadherenceandcellorientationinthreedimensions.Themicrocavitiesallowthatindividualcellscanbetrackedoverdayswithoutchangeoftheirposition.Ifseveralcellsenteramicrocavity(afterseedingorproliferation)intensivecell-contactsinthreedimensionalconfigurationareestablishedandcanbeinvestigated.Thetechnologyenableshighresolutionandintratcellularmicroscopyofadherentandnonadherentcellsinlifecellexperimentsandafterfixationandstaining.
