ABIlityoftransplantedcellsandproduceastrongcontrastagainstsurroundingtissue,intracellularlabelingofcellswithironoxideparticlesbeforetransplantationhasbeendescribed.²OurnewlydevelopedFeraTrackContrastParticlesaresuperparamagneticironoxide(SPIO)particlesspecificallyformulatedfor
invitrolabelingofvariouscelltypespriortotransplantationandpre-clinicalMRI.Oncewithincells,SPIOscaninducedecreasedsignalintensityonT1,T2,andT2*-weightedimages.³
